Oyako Don for 1-2 pax
Recipe
Yellow Onion - ½ pc
Green Onion - 1 stalk
Chicken Thigh - 1pc
Eggs - 2
Cooking Oil - 1 Tbsp
Sauce Mixture
Warm Water - 100ml
Dashi Powder - 1 Tsp
Japanese Sweet Sauce (to replace Mirin) - 1 Tbsp
Soy Sauce - 1 Tbsp
Sugar - 1/2 Tsp
Instructions
1) Slice yellow onion. Diagonally cut the white portion of the green onion. Green portion slice thinly.
2) Combine sauce mixture ingredients.
3) Preheat oil in pan. Pan fry chicken thigh. Skin down first, pan fry until golden brown. Then cut into bite size pieces.
4) Lightly beat eggs, set aside.
5) Pour sauce mixture into pan. Add in yellow onion and green onion white portion. Simmer until soft.
6) Add in chicken meat. Simmer until fully cooked over low heat.
7) Pour in beaten eggs. Simmer for 1 minute or until egg is done to your liking.
8) Gently slide down over cooked rice.
9) Garnish with green onion (green portion), Japanese chili pepper mix and shredded seaweed.
